Peterskirche, St. Peter’s Church, is one of the most beautiful representations of Austrian Baroque architecure in Vienna. The location included a church as early as the Middle Ages, which was rebuilt a number of times, and was finally destroyed by fire in 1661. The new church was built under the supervision of Gabriel Montani, and then Johann Lukas von Hildenbrandt, the architectural design was from the dome of he same name in Rome. Most of the construction work took place between 1701 and 1722, and the dedication took place in 1733. The church building was renovated at the end of the 20th century, and the interior includes beautiful altars and statues.
