Kunsthistorisches Museum – Vienna
The Kunsthistoriches Museum, an art collection located in a square dome on the main ring of Vienna, opened by Emperor Franz Joseph I, receives visitors since 1891. It is one of the most important European museums built in the 19th century, the art gallery including paintings from Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, Jan van Eyck, Albrecht Durer, Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, and Rafael. Apart from the gallery, the museum’s Egyptian collection, and Greek and Roman exhibition draws many visitors as well.
The museum is open every day except for Monday, from 10am until 8pm – until 9pm on Thursdays. Accessible by U2 and U3, Volkstheater station.
