Jüdisches Museum – Vienna
Jüdisches Museum, the Jewish Museum is situated in downtown Vienna, just southwest of Stephansplatz. The first jewish museum of the Austrian capital, unique in its kind, was established in 1895. It was closed in 1938, and the collection was incorporated into that of the national museum. Today’s museum was opened in 1990. Further additions included a synagogue, a library, archives, exhibitions in the area bordered by Judenplatz, Eskeles palace and Schwedenplatz.
The location is easy to access from the Schwedenplatz or the Stephansplatz metro stations.
