Ernst Happel Stadion - Vienna
The Ernst Happel Stadion, formerly called the Praterstadion or the Wienerstation, is the largest stadium in Austria, located in Vienna. The five-star soccer stadium can accommodate close to five thousand spectactors. It hosts the games of the Austrian National Soccer Team, and the local games of the UEFA Cup and the Champion’s Legue. The stadium can also accommodate concerts, with 19 thousand additional floor seats.
The stadium was built between 1929 and 1931, rebuilt after the second warld war, and renovated in 1986, when the stands were fully covered. The stadioum is situated east of downtown Viena, on the Danube-bank, close to the Prater. By public transportation, it can be reached on the U2 metro line.
