Belvedere Palace, or Schloss Belvedere is a Baroque palace, situated in the third district of Vienna. The masterpiece of Johann Lukas von Hildebrant is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites today. The building complex consists of a palace called the upper Belvedere, a mansion called the lower Belvedere, the Orangery – the former Promeranzenhaus or orange house of Prince Eugene - hosting temporary exhibitions, and the 20er Haus, an architectural monument of the 50’s.
The upper Belvedere houses an impressive collection of Austrian art from the Middle Ages until the present day, and the lower Belvedere offers a fascinating insight into Baroque interior design. The palace, the mansion and the exhibitions can be visited daily between 10am and 6pm.
