The Ankeruhr, the clock forming a bridge in between the two buildings of the Anker Insurance Company, was sculptured and painted by Franz von Matsch, in Art Nouveau style, in between 1911 and 1917. In a 12-hour time span, 12 Austrian historical figures move along the 10 metres long and 7.5 metres wide clock bridge, representing the history of Vienna, with music typical of their era. In December before Christmas, carols are played between 5 and 6pm.
The clock is located in downtown Vienna, in the historic city centre, and can be accessed from the Staphanspaltz station of U1 and U3, or from the Schwedenplatz station of U1 and U4 metro lines.  A Ankeruhr – Vienna - nearest hotels
